Tips for getting started

First impressions are so important in today's competitive world of business. Every opportunity must be taken to ensure your organisation looks professional, knowledgeable and organised.

Before putting pen to paper and finger to the keys, an important part of the design process is to have a clear understanding of what you and your business are about, so that the designer is best equipped to deliver the results you are looking for.

To get you started Paliart Designs suggests looking at your competitors. Go online and examine their branding which means look at the pictures, colours and words they use to describe themselves. Spend some time thinking about how you want your material to look and what you want to say. Make some notes as you go through the process. Here are a few points to consider when planning your design:

  1. Aim for a clean and simple design

  2. A picture says a thousand words - good quality images are invaluable

  3. Limit your colour palette - Two to three colours can give your print or digital design a more sophisticated look

  4. When writing copy keep it concise and to the point using correct grammar

The two main types of printing methods are Offset and Digital.

So what's the difference?
In brief, offset printing gives high quality results and is cost effective for large quantities. You are also able to select from a much wider range of paper and card. Digital, on the other hand, is best utilised for printing smaller quantities. The process has its limitation but is faster and considerably cheaper than offset.

If sourcing and dealing with printers is problematic then Paliart Designs can take that worry off your hands and deliver to you the finished product.
